About the event
The Unbeaten Collective is a quartet of bonafide music educators that features pianist Mark Massey, guitarist Riner Scivally, bassist Richard Simon and violinist Yvette Devereaux.
Mark Massey
Pianist-composer Mark Massey is a versatile performer whose career spans jazz, classical, rock, and world music. A graduate of California State University, Long Beach, he earned both bachelor’s and master’s degrees in music and received the Carmen Dragon Fellowship for composition. Massey has performed throughout the U.S., Europe, the Far East, and Asia, working with artists including Larry Carlton, David Benoit, Poncho Sanchez, Hubert Laws, Louie Bellson, Freddie Hubbard, Maynard Ferguson, Yehudi Menuhin, Stéphane Grappelli, and Tony Williams. He performs regularly throughout Southern California as a sideman and as leader of The Mark Massey Trio.
